Jason Furman

Jason Furman is the Aetna Professor of the Practice of Economic Policy at Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard University’s Department of Economics. He is a nonresident senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics and co-teaches Ec10, Harvard’s largest course. Furman’s research covers U.S. and international macroeconomics, fiscal policy, labor markets, and competition policy. He served as President Obama’s chief economist and Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers from 2013 to 2017. Furman is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and other organizations, and he contributes regularly to the Wall Street Journal and Project Syndicate.
