David Sasaki directs Boys & Men Online at the American Institute for Boys and Men, a research and policy program focused on how digital technologies shape the lives of boys and men.
His career spans technology policy, media, gender and governance. Before joining AIBM, he served as a program officer in gender equity and governance at the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. He previously worked at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, managing a portfolio of grants to media and technology organizations.
Earlier in his career, he led Omidyar Network’s civic technology portfolio in Latin America and advised the Open Society Foundations’ Information and Latin America programs on technology policy. He was the first employee of Global Voices, a digital media advocacy organization incubated at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University.
Sasaki holds a bachelor’s degree in global studies and political science from the University of California, San Diego. In his free time, he enjoys reading, cycling and playing basketball.
