Ioakim Boutakidis, Ph.D., is a Professor of Child & Adolescent Studies, while also serving as Chair of the Department of Educational Leadership at California State University, Fullerton. His prior roles have included Chair of Child & Adolescent Studies, Faculty Fellow of Student Success, and Associate Dean of Student Success. He also serves as a member of the APA’s National Taskforce on Boys in School, focusing on the academic challenges facing adolescents. His prior research focused on improving academic outcomes for historically under-served students, designing, running, and assessing student support interventions designed to improve retention and graduation rates. His plans are now to focus those energies on specifically addressing academic outcomes for adolescents and young men in secondary and post-secondary settings.
