Jamie Emery

Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Jamie Emery is a third-year PhD student in economics at MIT. Her research examines how public policy influences economic opportunity, family stability, and children’s long-term outcomes. Motivated by significant changes in work and family life over recent decades, she investigates how shifts in economic security and family structure affect men and their surrounding families and communities. Emery’s work analyzes how childhood environments and historical policy changes impact outcomes across generations. As an AIBM Graduate Research Fellow, she aims to inform policies that strengthen families, support father involvement, and promote intergenerational mobility.
