Dr. Rashawn Ray is a Professor of Sociology at the University of Maryland, leading the Social Justice Alliance with Bowie State University and the Anti-Black Racism Initiative. A Senior Fellow at The Brookings Institution, his research focuses on racial and social inequity. He frequently testifies on issues like policing reform and health policy. As the Executive Director of LASSR, Ray developed virtual reality law enforcement training and implicit bias programs. He has published extensively and written for major outlets like The Washington Post and The New York Times. Ray serves on boards with Meta and the Greater Washington Community Foundation and has received numerous awards for his work.
